Default Gasket seal to use

Hello I'm putting my 68 mustang engine it's a 289 and was wondering what kind of gasket seal I should use when attaching my heads and my intake manifold. Thanks

Use nothing on the head gaskets, install them clean and torque properly. On the intake, use some black rtv on the 4 corners where the gaskets meet.

The best way to torque the heads is to tighten all the bolts in sequence to 30 foot pounds and then back them all off (in sequence) Torque the bolts in sequence to 20 foot pounds, retorque to make sure they are all at 20 foot pounds and then in steps of 10 foot pounds until the proper torque level is reached. (20 - 20, 30 - 30, 40 - 40, 50 -50, 60 -60, 70 - 70) This allows the head to be seated to the gasket completely and uniformly. Since I started using this method I have never had to retorque a set of heads and I have not had any leakage problems.
