Default Vin number mystery

I have a original 67 owners manual which has the following information in the owners Identification area,
Name of owner: (left out for privacy reasons)
Owners Address: (ditto)
purchase date: June 29, 1967
Selling Dealer Moffet Ford
address: 5292 Carpinteria Ave.
Warranty Number: 6R07A177219

Doesn't this indicate that this is a 66 Coupe. Would they have sold this car as a 67 Model.

Does it have any of the other info such as Body, Colour, Trim, Date, DSO, Axle, and Trans numbers? It may be that it was built in late (November & December) of 1966, making it one of the first/early 1967 Mustangs.

No, all I have is the manual, however I have a 67convertible that was built in the same factory on Nov. 14, 1966 and it has a 7R03xxxxx number on it

Maybe they bought a 1966 Mustang late in the year and they gave it a 67 Manual because there wasn't a whole lot changed other than the appearance of the body. Or, maybe someone bought a 1966 Mustang, and found a 1967 manual, filled it out, and then got rid of the car. Although, it is interesting. I used Mustang Secret Decoder, and here is what it said. It looks like it may have been a 1966 Mustang GT.

1966
Plant: R-- San Jose, CA
Body Series: 07-- 2 Door Hardtop
Engine: A-- 289 4v V8
Unit: 177219-- 177219

Hello. What probably happened was, someone bought a new 66 coupe, traded it in for a 67 model car, someone else bought said 66 coupe, but it didn't have an owners manual in it, so the dealership gave them a 67 owners manual. That would be my guess.

I have no info on 6R07A177219 in my book but it would have a scheduled build date around March 26, "26C".

Another theory is it was a possible 66 left over on the lot that didn't sell until late in the 67 model year that the dealer threw that owners manual in with.

Hopefully a 1969 convertible or Sportsroof (non Mach or Boss) for next Mustang project

Trying to find my father's 1973 Mustang Grande he bought brand new. 3F04F126773 last known registration and title was in New Jersey, 1982.
