i know they came with a 225 horsepower rating but how would i go about getting it to the 271 horses that a K code pushes?

The K code had a solid lift cam - pain in the butt and noisey. How stock looking do you want this to be? Easy way would be change to a roller cam and lifter set up (5.0 stuff) - a good dual plane aluminum intake - a Barry Grant 625 (or close) carb - and a decent set of shorty headers. Maybe some 351W heads from around 1970.

dad is correct. solid= pain in the butt! that would be a good combo. also look at world windsor jr heads. cast iron, look stock and flow like crazy.
