Default 1965 mustang new ring and pinion gears

i am most likely going to buy new gears for my differential soon....i currently have the 2.80s.....im just wondering what should i go with...this car is absoloutly no drag car i just thought it would make it a little more peepier which would be cool....i dont know how much taller to go though...i was thinking 3.50s or 3.73s....is that too tall??...like how much top speed am i going to lose from doing this (not that i race and am worried 2 much) i have a standard 3 speed right now and have no plans of getting a T-5 if i change at all it will be a standard 4 speed which has no impact of my top speed as the last gears in both are the same

3.55s would be perfect.

I agree with the 3.55.
