Default Roller Rockers without guide plates?

Kia-Ora,Hi from Taupo, New Zealand
Can someone verify my info? My 1966 Mustang GT has the casting stamp on the cylinder heads '1965". These heads have the slotted pushrod holes instead of the larger round pushrod holes. Also the original rockers are non-railed. Question. Am I able to run full roller-rockers, without screw-in studs & guide plates saftely?
Cheers!

Welcome to the site. I not running a guide plate with mine and I haven't had a problem but I am using the screw in studs. I would only use the guide plate if I was using roller lifters with the dog dbones and spider.
