I had forgotten about this part I found on my car until I found a picture of it in my computer. Sorry about the quality. It is a black rectangular box. It has 2 nozzles coming out of it, one on the front one on the bottom. The one on the front says DIST and the one on the bottom says CARB. I forget what name is in the diamond shaped logo. It also has an electrical wire coming out of it but the plug was cut off at some point in my cars past. Sorry about the quality of the photo. I will take a better one when I get back to Pittsburgh. Does anybody know what its for?
I would say some sort of aftermarket vacuum advance or emissions control. That's all I can think of. If you knew the name in the diamond I would Google it. Interesting though, and kinda neat. Nothing I would ever put back on the car but neat to hang onto.
(It looks like an aftermarket windshield washer pump to me but not with the "dist" and "carb" markings)

Trying to find my father's 1973 Mustang Grande he bought brand new. 3F04F126773 last known registration and title was in New Jersey, 1982.
I know what that is....what the hell is that? Oh it's a frag-a-stat modified from a discombobulator. Sorry I'm no help. I have a couple of those type of things laying around for conversation pieces. Interesting though.

And so the hunt continues. I have been trying to find out what this thing is since I got my car as a one month early 16th birthday present in December 2006.
Haha. Actually, before my engine decided to go *poof*, I had it up to about 96 on one of the local highways. The 6 is a great car. And right now I am sooo pissed off. On June 26 I ordered a set of 6 new piston heads with wrist pins. Mustangs Unlimited won't get them from the manufacturer until July 21, because they have to custom cast them.
96mph ! wow your brave. I would not dare take my 66 6 powered coupe to that speed, if it would even reach it. I like the six for the gas mileage and reliability, but I'm still going to put in a 302 later this year.

Top speed isn't always defined by the motor, no reason a 6 couldn't do that. The rear end gearing will be the biggest factor and which tranny factors in too.
96 mph is just crazy, these cars just don't handle like newer cars. The highway speed limits by me are 65 and if I have my Mustang on the highway I'm normally just going with the flow in the right lane at 70-75 mph and letting others pass in the left lane. There are some times I have to get in the left lane to pass trucks and slower vehicles and getting up to 80 to merge into the lane the car starts behaving differently and becoming a little "squirrely", and this is with a completely rebuilt front end and alignment. I won't dare trying going over 80 with my car. It's as if someone has flicked a handling switch.

I know, it gets a bit light, but it was a straight road, and I just wanted to see what it could do. Normal driving for me is between the speed limit and 10 mph over the speed limit.
Just do what I do with all my old parts. Throw them in an old box and when it gets full just shove it in the farthest, darkest corner of your garage. Keep telling yourself that "SOMEDAY you'll need them!"
Ok, now that I am home I see what the name is.
The name/company in the diamond is DANA. Then below that it says, P.C.Div. . On the back there is a part number stamped KE7.306. . Does that help?
