Default VIN Decode 1966 Mustang GT?

Hi,

Thinking about becoming a mustang guy and am looking at a 66 that is suppose to be a GT. Was wondering if you could help me decode the VIN = 6F07A283179.

Also, owner claims it has the original 289, any idea where I can find the identification numbers on the block. My 73 bronco has it under the dist hold down, but the owner says there are no number there.

Thanks.

Id number is on the block where the starter is, probably can't see it unless you take the starter off and no way to prove it is the original engine to that car. There is someway to tell if it is a REAL gt, but I don't know what it is. Vin shows 1966 coupe built in Dearborn MI, A code is a 289 4 barrel. If it has a data plate on the door it shows all of the other info: int/ext colors, rear end ratio, DSO, transmission.
