That's similar to what I have, no light is directly over the car, I have flourescents on either side.
Here's the best pic I have off hand showing the light setup,

You can see more stuff by going to my website,
www.jasonsgarage.com and looking around. I have a habit of not showing off my tools directly, for obvious reasons

) but if you look in the background and what's laying around you'll get an idea of some of my stuff. I don't have a garage for myself, everything I do, plus my Mustang is stored in half of my parent's garage. My '87 Caprice is stored outside, I unfortunately don't have inside storage for that car.
The garage is well insulated, has insulated foam core vinyl garage doors, is caulked/sealed well too, but has no heat source itself. The garage faces dead North too which sucks and it gets very cold here in Northwestern, CT. I normally don't mess with the car much during the winter but the few times I do and that which I spend quite some time out in the garage I use a 40k BTU Reddy Heater. Not the best heat source but the best for the occasional need for heat that I have. I only run grade K1 kerosene which keeps the smell down than using diesel and open a garage door a few inches for fresh air while it runs. Once the garage gets up to temp (60 deg in about a half hour) I shut it down and close the door fully. Warms the garage quickly and only has a real faint odor. I've generally found the people that do complain about the odors from these heaters are the ones that dump anything in them to burn.
