Default Mustang interior smell?

Everyone knows the smell of a classic mustang. It's the best smell in the world! I am just curious if swapping out the interior affects that wonderful smell.
It may just be worth it to keep the original...
When I say best smell in the world I am referring to the car world of course

haha i know what you mean. i Believe thats what all vinyl smells like so i dont think different seats and all are going to make it smell different.

I have found that replacing all of the interior vinyl did not remove the smell. It is imbedded in the firewall pad and the insulation under the headliner. If you only replace the carpet and upholstery you will most likely save that wonderful smell like I did.

Default Smell? That's not a smell, that's an aroma.

I think that smell is gasoline and hot oil. Few of us remember open crankcase breathers and 4 bbl carburators.

Friend of mine with a '65 ragtop 289 did a complete daily driver restore. It still smells Wonderful cause it still has open breathers and a carb. God, I miss those days.

Febreze your carpet it will help with the smell if you don't like it.

Funny story.
I when I was in power school in South Carolina(Navy), I bought myself an S-code 390 67 fastback matching numbers.
The only thing was it had about a combined total of 2 sq.ft. of good metal.
I bought it from a guy in Nebraska who had it in a barn(literaly)for the past 20 years and it became a nest for field mice.
It was going to be my daily driver but I didn't realize it was in that bad of condition(it did drive though and I did drive it for a bit)so I had to sell it as it wasn't a good thing to have for a guy living in a small dorm type room on a navy base.
Anywho, I had a couple bottles of fabreze and sprayed it every single time I got in the car because it smelled so bad...that mustang smell i didn't like.
