Default 1966 Mustang Coupe Auto Transmission Won't Stay In Gear

Any advice on why my 66 Mustang will not stay in gear?

Automatic 3 speed, shifting from Park to Reverse the transmission connects for about 3-4 seconds, then it seems as if it is neutral, then it connects again for 3-4 seconds and the process repeats itself. It is the same in all forward gears.

It's low on fluid. Guess how I know.LOL Start the car and let it warm up. Then fill it up depending on how much it registers on the dipstick. You check the trans fluid while the engine is running and warm. You will use ATF transmission fluid. I recommend Castrol Type F Transmission Fluid.

Thanks for the advice, will give it a shot tomorrow. I just acquired the car about two months ago and I am still learning. It has been a lot of fun so far.
