I traded mine ('67) in drum to drum complete on a 9" tracloc 3rd member built for me with 3.50:1, he gave me $125 credit on the 8" complete w/2.79 conv. and another $50 for the 9" conv. 3rd member I had. So I got a $500 3rd member for $325 and got rid of the large parts sitting behind my shed, win/win for me.
Conv. 8" are pretty common so if you can find someone that needs one for a mustang restore for a '65-'66 it would work since they're shorter than the '67> that would be one selling point.

What do you mean "shorter" then a '67? Whats "shorter"?

The width from axle flange to axle flange is 57.25" for '65-'66, 59.25" for '67 - '70, 61.25" for '71-'73. I can't seem to find my link but there's a website that breaks them all down. Being shorter is why most guys with '65-'66 have a hard time finding a 9" to upgrade to and normally have to have one shortened.

Oh! Did not know that. Thanks for that bit of knowlege. Well thats just it, I didnt want to spend all the extra $$$ to upgrade a rear end when all i really wanted was positraction and alittle lower gear.
