Default 1966 warning light confusion

Ok, now I'm confused. A couple months ago, I asked a question on here about where to get power for my new parking brake warning light. I was told find a circuit that is only "ON" when the car is in ACC or RUN. Well, I found this link -http://mustangmonthly.automotive.com/44035/mump-0404-ford-mustang-dealer-options/production-parts.html- and it says that they connected it to the back of the ignition switch. How does that work? Wouldn't it stay on constantly?

That's only the power source for the switch that mounts on the parking brake. Paragraph 16 from those instructions.

Yes, but wouldn't it stay on while the car is sitting in my garage unless I release the handbrake?

EDIT: Well, looking through my wiring diagrams, I will just put a male connector onto the power supply and I will use the accessory plug that the radio plugs into.

Hello. It would best to hook it to the back of the ignition switch. There is a threaded stud sticking out of the back of switch that has power on it when the key is in the on position. That;s where the gauges get their power. Just take the nut off the stud, put a ring connector on the power wire of the light, slip that onto the stud and put the nut back on.
