Default 1967 Mustang - Which 6.5" speaker did you use in your kickpanel?

Bought new plastic kickpanels (for my '67 coupe) with a 6.5" opening for a speaker, measured the mounting depth available to be 1-3/8". Is there a decent speaker you could recommend that will fit in such a shallow depth? Maybe I can flex the kickpanel a bit to get a little more depth?

These only need to be mid to high freq range since bass will all come from the subs in the trunk I'm hoping to find speakers that can handle about 100W(rms) and 3-way if possible.

Thanks!

Pioneer makes some nice shallow mounts, but you don't have more space behind for the speaker? I used a 2" deep shallow mount Pioneer in my little sisters car for kick panel speakers.

I'll remeasure to be sure, the kickpanel mounts the speaker at an angle, so in back (closest side to the firewall) there was over 2 inches (There is a factory made hole in the metal frame work behind the kick panel) but in front the calipers were showing 1.37".

The hole behind the kickpanel is not big enough to allow the entire magnet of the speaker to sink into. I don't suppose you had to cut the metal framework? Also, I bought my kickpanels from C.J. Pony Parts... maybe there are different kickpanels sold with different mounting depths?

I did not have to cut, but the speakers I bought had an offset magnet, i will see if I can find the model number.

Thanks Mike, that website doesn't say a whole lot about the speakers like model number, frequency response, sensitivity, RMS Watts ... just that they are Pioneer 120W. I've seen websites sell 120W speakers as (2) speakers, 60Wpeak each, which are more like 50Wrms each.

Are there any other decent 6.5" speakers that will fit?

I'm thinking about trying to shoe-horn in a pair of Infinity Reference 6032si's.. they are advertised as "shallow mount" and have decent specs.. 1-15/16" depth mount needed, so if Mike got a 2" depth mounted, I'm thinking these might work.
