It may be. I would recommend taking the belt off, make sure it and the pulley grooves are clean, put it back on, and tighten it.

Hello wabarca2
Could be a belt as suggested and follow the advice given already.

When you say squeak...I think of a bushing in the control arms.
A squeal is perhaps what you have, caused by a loose or glazed belt.
This will make noise when you step on the gas.

If the belt doesn't help post back with a few more details like when it happens
where does it seem to be coming from.

Good Luck....Print Dad

if it squeals squeaks, whatever, when u press the gas, usually means its the belt dude. u use the alternator to adjust belt tension, there should be 2 bolts to mount the alternator, loosen both just a little, enough to move the alternator left to right. get the belt off, check for cracks, glazing, any imperfections, if none, throw it back on. if their is, buy a new one. to install, just run the belt on the first pulley grove the one closest to the engine, it should go to ur alternator, water pump, and crank. once on just pull the alternator to the left, and tighten the two bolts. ( this is the directions for a non ps, ac car) that should rid u off that squeak squeal.
