Default Hit a curb doing 40 and need help with suspension problems

well, the car isn't a mustang, but it's a 67 cougar, so close enough.

i was driving, and some guy pulled out in front of me, i had to slam on the brakes and the car turned sideways and i hit my front passengers side tire against the curb.

now the bottom of the tire is tilted inwards towards the motor.

from what i can tell, nothing is bent, both ball joints are fine, upper and lower control arms are fine.

although where the tie-rod connects to the rear sway bar, it's tilted downwards just a little bit more than the other side, not much at all though, i didn't know if that's normal or not.

i've tried adjusting the camber and stuff, but when i let the car down from the jack, the tire just goes back inwards.

does anyone have any ideas, and maybe an estimate on what a shop would cost to repair it, i just don't have enough tools.

By rear sway bar, do mean the drag link? Some people also call it the center link. It sounds like you have manual steering on your Cougar. I would say that you probably at least bent the adjusting sleeve between the tie rod and center link. I would by all means check the condition of the adjusting sleeve and the center link for bends or buckling. If that is what it is they are simple to swap out and replace. You should be able to handle the job yourself with basic tools.

As for the price to have a shop fix it, that all depends on where you are I would guess. You will just have to take it to a reputable shop in your area and have them look it over.

Hope that helps
