Default $100 Salvage yard credit - What could I buy? Interchangeable upgrades?

My dad is fighting with his commuter a 97 Nissan pickup. No fire. Tried everything. Long story short he tried a used ECM from a local salvage yard and it didn't work. He now has a $100 credit and has offered it to me. It's unlikely they will have any classic mustangs. What could I pick up for my 66 coupe? Should I look to see if they have a Granada for disc brakes? 9" rear end? What are some interchangeable upgrades possibly found in a salvage yard?

First off, did he check the coil pack? Second, what is a mod that you REALLY want for your car? Its completely up to you.

I asked him about coil, he said it was built into the distributor he changed that didn't help. I would like to have disc brakes and I've read up on the Granada switch, but my questions is: How much time can I expect to spend stripping these parts off of the junk car? I've never bought something that way, do they cut it off with a torch for you or is it my responsibility to remove it. The 9" rear end is something I've been considering. 4-speed top loader, but I really doubt they would have that.

If you don't have front disc brakes you could use it to buy some parts off of an old Granada (spindles, calipers, etc.). Heres a great site with a parts list of what you can find from a salvage yard. Disc Brake Swap
