Default Vintage Movie Mustangs

Hello all,

I just wanted to share a little "Mustang moment" that I just had. Well, I was kind of bored today so I logged onto Hulu.com to watch a movie or two. I opted to watch an old movie about racing (naturally ). The movie was called Thunder Alley starring Annette Funicello and Fabian. It was made in 1967. The part that I thought was quite interesting was that around the 52 minute mark Mustangs appeared. There was two 66 coupes. One was red and one was white both 289 cars. They were using them as stunt vehicles!!! They looked to be in perfect shape still, not banged up at all. The drivers ramped them and drove them on only two wheels around the track at the same time. In the next scene they drove the red coupe between two ramps and launched yet another pristine white 66 fastback over the top of it!!! I was quite shocked and impressed with the stunts our favorite little car was doing. If only it was 67 again and our cars were new like these.

It may not be 1967 but our cars handle, steer, and has more power than they did back then.

Back then people knew how to drive there wasn't abs traction control or air bags and your seat belt was a lap belt.Watch the real gone in 60 sec from 74 that 73 mustang took a beating he even hit a light pole and drove off. They only had one stunt car it had a roll cage added that is it.And that car still runs and drives to this day.People say newer cars are safer but lets see a new mustang hit a pole like that and drive off.

True, most of our cars are better today then yesterday. With all the updates we love to perform on them.

It is pretty amazing the beating that the original Eleanor took. I have the original movie and watch it several times a year. I think it is amazing some of the things that car lived thru. Especially the unplanned moves like hitting the pole after spinning out.
