Default repairing 1966 Mustang front frame rails

ok i have a 66 convertible mustang and the front frames on both sides need to be replaced but just like 10in. of them. i bought from mustangs unlimited the outer and inner patch panels of the both sides but i just need like i said the first 10in. like what do i use to cut this out of both the car and the patches thanks

You can address this in a couple ways. Obviously the best way would be to take it to a professional and have it done. The best thing to use for cutting is a plasma cutter you can also use a cut-off wheel. If you are just trying to take care of some small rust patches in the side walls of the frame rail you can clean up the area and spray it with weld-thru primer and simply cut a piece of plate to cover the area and weld it over the rusted out section to add reinforcement. One thing you have to be careful with is the fact that it's a convertible. Any cutting off the frame rails, even if it seems minor can weaken and cause twisting or movement.
