bigger spring/shock plate I bought a 9" rear a while ago for my 65 mustang and am finally getting around to putting it in. I think i have everything i need except the spring plates. The 9" takes 3 1/16 inch u-bolts and i think my eight inch only took 2 3/4 inch. I had originally planned on just making the holes slotted far enough to fit the wider bolts in but i am afraid if i do this the nut will be too close to the lip on the plate and i won't be able to tighten it. The only ones i have been able to find to buy cost $150 a pair and i don't want to pay that much. Does anyone have any ideas on how to make my spring plates work or where to get some? I did think about using the plates off of the granada (where i got the rear) but it has one shock in front and one behind the axle and my mustang has them both in front. |
