Exclamation 1968 mustang fastback to shelby gt500kr conversion, any help on finding a 428cj?

i am currently starting a project of converting a 1968 fastback mustang into a gt5ookr shelby mustang. anyone know where i can ge the shelby tail light panel and the 427cj block? i am having trouble finding the shelby style hood too. feel free to pose any questions.

For the taillight panel and hood I would check:
Mustang Depot
Mustangs Plus
Mustangs Unlimited

For the CJ block you're best bet is just checking eBay or Hemmings.

We will have the Shelby Fiberglass back in production soon, so you can check with our dealers, but Tony Branda will have everything you need and much more.

FYI the link to the 427 blocks on ebay is an ad for chevy 427....dont think thats what you want....The 68 Shelby GT500KR came with the 428 cobra jet

Aren't the 390 and 428 the same block? so really you can get a 390 block and make a 428 right?

Welcome to the site. Carrol Shelby's company in Arizona still makes them. Complete engines also.

If you want led tail lights Mustang Project - Discount Mustang Restoration Parts LED Tail Lights 2005 2006 2007 Mustang Parts has them.And btw the kr was a 428cj.

sorry a typo in the message. however i got the 428cj correct in the post heading i need the rear end assembly for the 68 shelby i can get the tail lights. my biggest problem as of yet is finding the shelby style hood, anyone know of any manufacturers?

the 428cj was cast speciffacally as the cobraq jet engine. completely different block
