A good night. Why we love Stangs My wife and I attended a filipina birthday party Saturday. My wife, Rose, is from the Philippines and her friend had her 40th last night. I had just gotten the parcel shelf finished (we had covered it in cloth) and putting an axle seal in (I burned up the original welding on new spring perches) and I was determined to drive the thing finally. I haven't really put any miles on the car in about 1.5 years. So anyway, I'm wiping the grease from my hands and getting dressed to go and it's looking like rain. I Rain-ex the glass and away we go. I'm feeling so cool! haha! Sure enough it rains just as we are arriving so I pull up close to the garage where the party is being held. The couple has a long drive and others have parked diagonally along the sides. But I park behind the van of the D.J. close to the open garage where everyone is eating (and later the tables will be moved so we can 'disco', the filipinas love to 'disco' and I'm learning to enjoy too). And my car is really drawing attention. Even form the filipinas who don't really even know what it is. But the filipino guys know and they dig it too. The sun came out after a while and my car sat there is the sun, the water beading on the Nightmist blue. We ate and danced and I talked to many guys about the car. We drove home, windows open, in the cool night air, the exaust rumbling. A very good night with my Mustang. |
