Default Accent Paint the Side Ornaments?

Does any one have some photos of a 67 Coupe with the Side Ornaments painted the accent color? I am a year from painting my project but can't help dreaming of the future paint scheme and the side vents are calling to be painted. My vision is White with Black Vinyl Top, 69 Hood Scoop on a turn signal hood with two bold stripes down the hood and trunk wrapping the lower valences ect And accenting the flying "C" with the traditional (black) pin striping. The ornament vents want to be black too! (black interior as well) I don't mean to stir up the hard core "keep it original" folks, but I'm sure it can't be helped. Lay it on me. I woul dlove to see some pics of the 67s with the vents painted. It's bound to have been done, but net image searches haven''t yeilded anything.

Regarding black side vents on a white car, I've never seen any that I liked the look of, that weren't painted the same color as the body. But then, I don't like vinyl tops either, so it's just a matter of personal taste. I actually have a vinyl top on my car, but it folds down behind the rear seat!

I'd just paint it the way you want and save some of the body color paint to repaint the vents in case you don't like it that way.

Why not put a Shaker Hood Kit on it, instead of the '69 scoop? I think that would look cool!

Default Photo shop will be handy

Im sure most of you can relate with "how you build your car" and "how circumstances build your car". I came across a good deal on on the 69 scope and it looked good on the original plain jane hood I have in the shed. Well see how it looks when I get the turn signal hood next week. Anyhow, I've got so many ideas about the final look and it won't see final paint until next year sometime - it's hard telling how she's gonna end up. Photo shop will come in handy before the masking tape gets applied. Thanks for the pic of the white car. It's a great shot to photoshop a black top on and try some pin stipes, blacked out vents and FLAMES. Just Kidding! (about the flames) And if anyone has a pic if the accented color side vents on there car - I'd love to see them.

Default Right On!

That's what I'm talking about. Thanks Ragtop! I love the scoop, but you may be right about the vents, maybe the flying "C" stripes would help. I may now know why you don't see any accent painted vents. It does look a little odd.
