Hello. Actually, the bondo is far more common than the lead now.

Default Bondo?

Filler IS common for use with 1/4 replacements, but please look into the latest filler advancements. When someone says bondo - I cringe. Especially where a fair amount will have to be apllied. Look into using some filler with fiberglass strand reinforcements. OH, make sure you weld the 1/4 in where it used to be leaded. I think that would be obvious, but filler is NOT a substitute for lead or weld.

I have used lead in the past, but with the current level of lightweight body filler you don't need to. No matter what you use for filler, it's the work below it that will make the difference. You really don't want more than just a skim coat of filler..if you need more than that you still have some metal work to do.
