Pics of my new 1968 Mustang that I bought for $1500
I was searching around Craigslist on Thursday at work and ran across this 68 Mustang for sale for $1500. I emailed the guy and he called me back and said some other people were coming to look at it tonight and it was first come first serve. So I called my mom who worked about 30 mins away from the guy and told her to get over there before he got home from work cause i was on my way up there with cash. She got to his house and laid claim to it. He called another guy who was coming to look at it and said that it was sold. He was like 10 mins away with cash and a trailer. He had driven 3 hours to get it. It doesn't run right now. Going to start on that tomorrow. Needs new brakes. Not in bad shape at all for the price. So now for the important part, the pics.
Good looking car! I'd watch out for a guy with cash and a trailer coming to kill you tho.... Keep us updated as to how the work is coming!

Haha sounds like my first car purchase. I saw the add the minuite it was on craigslist because i refreshed the page. I texted him a couple min after and he said sure come over. I had a 6500 dollar cashiers check ready to go of my lifes savings to buy my car. I brought my check a couple hours later and when i was discussing the car 2 different guys came to look at it and i gave him my offer. We shook hands as they were getting out of their cars. As you could imagine they were quite pissed. Looks like a great deal for the price BTW, good luck with her.

You know your a real GearHead when your friend tells you the IRS has really been killing him lately, and you reply, "Yeah, i prefer live axles too."
Dude! Awesome find! Was that close to Bedford? That's so close to me I can smell the exhaust.
Give your mom a hug & kiss.

It is so close to Bedford, its on 29th street now. By the old skating rink. Hit me up sometime if I'm outside, or not. Started working on it. Plugs and rotor and condenser looked newer and replaced. Carb looked freshly rebuilt too. No crap residue inside. I sprayed PB blaster inside the cyliders and am leaving them sit overnight.

Next time I'm up there I'll look in on you. There was also a pair of '72 coupes on S.R. 37 from Mitchell. but the old man won't sell them for anything.

Cannot go wrong for the price. Good luck with getting her running and she looks in real good shape from what I can se ein the pictures. Might wanna check the cowl out and frame rails as well as floor pans they always end up getting rusted out. If they are solid your off to a good start for certain.
That looks like a good buy! I've seen similar cars in the 3-5k range.
It looks like it was taken care of and it's all there which is a great start. While it's stored away for the winter is a good time to clean up the interior and engine bay.
I would put some drops of oil in the cylinders before cranking it. PB Blaster is fine for unsticking stuff but it will also wash the oil off the cylinder walls. The 200 is a good, solid motor and hopefully it will run well. You might want to do the brakes and drive the car around some to see it it needs anything else mechanical.
Great find!

Hopefully a 1969 convertible or Sportsroof (non Mach or Boss) for next Mustang project
Trying to find my father's 1973 Mustang Grande he bought brand new. 3F04F126773 last known registration and title was in New Jersey, 1982.
The brakes are non existent. I had a 92 GTI that I was fixing up. Got everything fixed but the brakes where were on the way. Took it out for a spin and went through an S curve with no brakes. Went through about 140 feet of fence and rolled it. Flipped it back up on its wheels and was able to drive it home. So I have learned my lesson on brakes. Probably the wrong place to announce it, but I'm a big fan of German Engineering. My 2000 BMW 740 has 222k miles and runs like a dream.
Don't feel bad, my Uncle restores VW's and I actually help him sometimes. My second car was a VW bug with 1800cc flat four and I loved that car. You could fill it up for $8.00 and drive for two weeks.

Ive had 13 so far. Gas and diesels. I've had 2 Fords, both Mustangs. The first one was a 95, it was ok, i sold it like everything else I have.
