Default Need help removing dash pad cap on 1971 mustang coupe

I just bought a new dash pad cap and I need help on how to remove it correctly without breaking anything. I removed all the screws (underneath the pad) holding the pad onto the dash but cannot seems to loosen the pad to remove it. It seems there's more to this than simply removing the screws. I think the dash pad is connected to the dash panel (the front dash part with the vehicle id tag on it). Help please!

You are correct. Take all the screws out you can find. There should srews over the instrument cluster, over the the center and over the glove box as well as by the defroster. Remove part with id tag and all. I put a cover on my years ago but remember nuts underneath to remove pad. There were no replacement pads for these cars bay in the day. P.S. there are 2 or 3 clips up in the front to hold it down on the windshield side just wiggle a bit it should come right out.
