What carb and engine do you have? It is most likely going to be the carb spacer, but the nice thing is that originals and reproductions are readily available.

Default metal carb spacer?

I believe it is a 1973 mustang 302 5bbl 5L (not the boss engine)
I just cannot locate a replacement carb spacer for a 2bbl.
anyone know where I can find one please speak up

Default carb spacer

What is that part at the back?there is a round thing attaching to
the spacer. It seems ed to be blocked off and no hoses attached to it?????????
can I just get an 2bbl spacer that does not have this feature?

Hi again. That top hat looking thingy should have had some vacuum lines coming off of it. You could use the earlier style spacer like the one in the picture that I posted for the pcv valve, but, if yours had more vacuum lines than just the pcv valve as part of the emissions system, you'll need to either replace what you had or come up with a way of by-passing it with some sort of vacuum tree on the intake.

Just took off ALL of it and put on a new 1" alum spacer instead of that EGR whatever. There was nothing hooked to it anyway!
Done
