Okay before everyone claims BS, the truth is that I hit 130,000 miles on the way in to work.

Aloha,

I was going to say "your brave" for going up to that speed, but then I saw it was about your mileage. My cars front starts to lift at about 80mph. As for mileage, mine has 178000+ miles.

It would have been more entertaining if I included the part of hitting 130 in the school zone after I dropped my daughter off but I didnt want to appear like a complete moron.

Nice to see how many miles some of you have got and I hope to get many more years and miles out of the car. My 12 year old is convinced that it is his car and I am only the current registered owner.

about a year ago I pushed my 67 to 110 - I'll do anything to impress a woman sometimes. was white knuckled the whole time! curious to what it'll do with the new heads on it, but I don't think I'll push it like that again.

Default 130 in Mustang

130mph is stretch, but not too far. Many years ago (young and foolish), I pushed my stock appearing 65 225hp 289 with 3.00 gears to 125 territory on several occasions. The reason I say stock appearing is that it started life as a dealer demo unit and I had a couple of acquaintances with identical setups and they usually topped 110-115 and couldn't keep up with me. I think it had been somewhat tweaked for the dealership's service manager. Sitting on the town square late one Saturday night, a fellow was bragging that his warmed over 350 Monte Carlo would do 140 and I couldn't keep my mouth shut. The next thing I know we are heading out of town with him in the lead. His passenger said his spedo was barely tapping 120 when I passed him. Mine was bouncing around 127 but I figure that was a little optimistic and I was definitely at top end.

Years later I put another strong 289 in there, and the best I could do was 110, but I was also hindered by HORRIBLE aerodynamics from a having most of the front end sheet metal off.

My first Mustang though was a 66 coupe with 289 2v. It was embarrassing that I could just barely hit 105 while my dads Torino station wagon with 351 2v would hit 112 without a struggle.
