IT IS NOT illegal to get a vin plate for a legit car.
It DOES however take a bloody miricle to actually find who does it and where it's done.
The DMV........had NO IDEA!!!!
The police......nope, no idea
Ford Co.......nope
The MTO ............nope
So, finally, 2 weeks into my search I come across the name
INSURANCE CRIME PROTECTION BUREAU......YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But wait,if you act now, we will charge you $450 per VIN
plate that you need!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Of course at that price they come down and put it in for you!!!
What a JOKE..like they don't get ENOUGH of my $$$$$$$$$$
Which plate are you looking to get replaced? The data plate on the door? If you've got a 65-66, that's the only real "plate" that has the vin on it. Also, the data plate on the door cannot be used to register a vehicle because the door is seen as removable/replaceable. All other vin locations are stamped into the sheet metal.
If the door data plate is what you're looking for 1966er's link is right on. Costs $25 I think. If that's not what you're looking for....good luck, I guess.
