Are you talking about the "Trim Data" plate on the left door? Is so, this is where I had mine made. ::Marti Auto Works - 1955 - 1989 Ford Parts

I think it is illegal to get a VIN plate made.

New vin plate

IT IS NOT illegal to get a vin plate for a legit car.
It DOES however take a bloody miricle to actually find who does it and where it's done.
The DMV........had NO IDEA!!!!
The police......nope, no idea
Ford Co.......nope
The MTO ............nope
So, finally, 2 weeks into my search I come across the name

INSURANCE CRIME PROTECTION BUREAU......YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But wait,if you act now, we will charge you $450 per VIN
plate that you need!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Of course at that price they come down and put it in for you!!!
What a JOKE..like they don't get ENOUGH of my $$$$$$$$$$

Which plate are you looking to get replaced? The data plate on the door? If you've got a 65-66, that's the only real "plate" that has the vin on it. Also, the data plate on the door cannot be used to register a vehicle because the door is seen as removable/replaceable. All other vin locations are stamped into the sheet metal.

If the door data plate is what you're looking for 1966er's link is right on. Costs $25 I think. If that's not what you're looking for....good luck, I guess.

He may be talking about a 68 or newer Mustang that actually has a VIN plate on the dash.

If that is the case the only place I know of is this that may be able to help, Tags Backeast, Trim Tags Backeast, Data Plates, A.G.Backeast. We make tags for AMC, Buick, Cadillac, Camaro, Chevelle, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Corvette, Dodge, DeSoto, Edsel, Ford, Frazer, La Salle, Henry J, Kaiser, Lincoln, Mercury, Mustang, Oldsmobile

1968 Mustang coupe, Acapulco Blue, 289 2v, C-4, Power Steering.
Hopefully a 1969 convertible or Sportsroof (non Mach or Boss) for next Mustang project

Trying to find my father's 1973 Mustang Grande he bought brand new. 3F04F126773 last known registration and title was in New Jersey, 1982.
