Default Engine colour July 65 mustang

Hi All (its been a while)

I thought i posted this question sum time back but I Think it got lost!
Right! i have a 1965 V8 convertible, build date July, with a 2 barrel carb,. When the car came over to me in the UK it had light ford blue block, valve covers and air cleaner.(not the dark 1966 blue)
I then read that the correct colour was a black block with gold valve covers etc for 1965, so I got to work on the colour change and detailing, it looked great.
I then read it was only the 4 barrel cars that had the gold valve cover etc...has all my work been in vain.

No, you have the right colours. Dark blue came in '66.

Thanks

So! the gold is the right colour, even though it is just a 2 barrel?

Hello. That's right. If it's a 65 model 289 the block, intake, heads and breather snorkel are black, the valve covers and and breather are gold.
