Default 1964 1/2 Mustang blistering paint

Hi Mustangers,

I have a 64 1/2 Mustang with a blistering paint issue. The bondo seems to be coming up and has cracked along with the paint in a few areas. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do to prevent some of the already cracked areas from flying off and exposing the metal. I will take some pics and post them in the next few days.

Hello.
Odds are, there isn't any metal to expose underneath the bondo. Not metal that can be saved, anyway. If it appears that something is pushing the bondo outward, what that something is is rust. Big, serious rust. It might be time to get that stuff off of your car and see what's really going on, and waiting won't make the repair get any cheaper. The rust is progressing. Hope that helps.

you need to go ahead and take these areas down to the metal, see whats going on and make proper repairs befor it all gets worse.

I'm with everyone else...it seems that it's time to get that stuff off and replace what's needed. Bondo is just a bandaid over the problem and it will crack and fall off with age.
