Default 1967 and Mustang with FORD on the hood

I owned one with nothing on the hood. I see one for sale on E-bay (it's a fastback) that has FORD on the hood. Most don't. Any ideas?

The car you had and the cars that you have seen probably had the hood replaced with a reproduction hood (the reproduction hoods are '67/'68 so they do not put holes in them), a hood from a '68, or when they had the car repainted just had them removed.

'67 had the FORD across the hood

When I bought my '67, there were no hood letters. The previous owner had filled in the holes when the car was painted. I was able to find the holes, so my car has the Ford letters on it again. The PO had also done the same thing regarding the trunk letters too. I was able to see slight dimples in the paint where the holes were.

It cost more after you get one painted to put the dacals and emblems back on, so some people don't do it. Same thing happened to my wifes' dads' car when it got wrecked and repainted that crapy color. Then they put on pinstripping that did'nt even go on it. You got to watch people that paint sometimes.

The 1967 mustangs all had FORD on their hoods........1968 ,Ford dropped the lettering, the hood was plain, just the chrome strip on the leading edge of the hood, and i'm not talking GT vs NON GT.
