A reprint of the 68 Ford factory service manual is what you want, it is available from the Mustang parts suppliers. I have one for my 68 and it goes into more detail than the Chilton or Haynes ones as it was published originally by Ford for the mechanics in the service departments. Back then they didn't have Alldata or Mitchell online.

Hopefully a 1969 convertible or Sportsroof (non Mach or Boss) for next Mustang project

Trying to find my father's 1973 Mustang Grande he bought brand new. 3F04F126773 last known registration and title was in New Jersey, 1982.

I am not sure if this is even available anymore. The first time I looked through this manual, I was at a public library. I found it helpful so I went to the local bookstore to purchase a copy, so I did not have to drive the 15 minutes back to look for some basic information. The manual I am referrring to is, Chilton's repair & tune-up guide for Mustang 1965 to 1973. Covers all models. The book has a part number 6542.

I have had this for years and used it quite a bit. I plan on keep using as I still have my 1970. The manual included the electrical diagrams (which I found and find very helpful), troubleshooting and even basic bodywork.

If you need some specific information, and I can help, let me know. I'll be glad to look through the manual and provide you with the information.

Best of luck. Rick

I'm another one that goes right to the Ford manuals. Lots more correct info and details. Got the 66, 69 ones plus ones for the Explorer and Ranger. E-bay has them usually all the time.

You can also get the Ford manual on CD. Most of the online classic mustang sites have it for sale..
