Default Every Mustang Owner Has A Story

Every Mustang Owner Has a Story with there ride.

Heres mine.

I bought my 1966 Mustang in April 2009, I bought the car from the 2nd owner, he said he had about 3-4 66's and he used the one I'm interested in as his way to get to work everyday. He said there was no problems at all with the car, but it just needed some work, that it was a project. All sounded good to me, not knowing a thing or two about mustangs or classics especially. It was black, with aqua interior, 200 ci Inline Six motor. I only knew a thing or two about muscle cars, and when he turned the car on for me, and said it has a flowmaster muffler, I fell in love with the car, mainly because the car sounded loud and angry so I thought that meant it was fast and powerful
I brought the car home, and since I didn't have my license at the time, I wasn't able to drive it, so I sat in my car almost everyday for hours reading a CJ Pony Parts and Mustangs Unlimited Magazine dreaming of all the possibilities. Later the first day the car turned off after I turned it on, I thought its an old car, they always do this. But really, the car didn't turn on at all. I thought maybe the battery died since the one I was given was old and really small. The next day I bought a brand new battery, and some oil. Put it all in, nothing. Still didn't turn on, I was frustrated.

My mom knew someone at her work, that told her they knew a mustang mechanic and has a ton of mustangs. We got the car to work but having our neighbor turn the car on from the cylanoid. We drove the car to the mechanics shop, and left the car with him. About a week later we got a call back from the mechanic and he did a full inspection of the car, he said nearly everything was wrong with the car, that the brakes were about to go out, U-Joints were extremely bad, Alternator was bad, Needed all new gaskets, Voltage Regulator needed to be replaced. The carb was having problems, and the oil filter needed to be replaced also. It took about 3 weeks until I got my first car back, and the day I got my license, was the day I got my car back.

Driving the stang in all the close cities where the hot spots were just to drive by and blast music. I felt like a god.
Since then I've still had several problems with the car,
Later on I had to get the carb rebuilt, new starter, fuel filter, new guages, new spark plugs, new ignition.
I've done other stuff like new rear speakers and putting the ford letters on in the front.

Working on your mustang, and even just putting in oil and transmission fluid makes you feel like you accomplished something so great.

I drive my classic everyday, nothing beats driving a classic mustang on the road, blasting your favorite music, having everyone turn there heads and complimenting your ride

Whats your story for when you first got your classic mustang?

Hello. I was given the keys to my first Mustang when I was 13. It was a 66 model 6 cyl coupe that needed everything, and I mean everything. Motor blown up, floors rotten, brakes, suspension and steering needed all new everything, interior looked like it was the home of several generations of wart hogs, needed paint after a bunch of body work, needed to be completely re-wired, the entire fuel system was missing. It needed everything. I was told that this was to be my car when I got my license and that if I wanted it to be roadworthy, I had better get busy. I got it ready, though. I worked on it on weekends and evenings during the school year and several hours daily during the summers, saved every penny that I could scrape up from baby-sitting and waiting tables in the summers and dumped it into my car. My brother had enough tools to repair anything built by anyone in the galaxy, and he would loan me stuff as I needed it until I could put a decent set of tools together. I finished it a few months before I could get my license and I used to sit in it, also. Start rubbing on something that had picked up a speck of dust or something. I loved that car. I still have it twenty years later. It's now completely disassembled and sitting in my attic, but, it's still around. I just couldn't sell it. It's too big of a part of my life. My future husband and I went on our first date in that car, and a whole bunch more of them, I got proposed to in that car, my husband drove me to the hospital to have our first baby in that car. It's like a part of the family. I'll put it back together someday.

That's how I feel with selling my car! I want to sell it, but at the same time, I'm thinking "Damn, this is my first car, I've done a lot of good stuff to it so far for only 6 months, and it means a lot to me"
But the other side is like "No Tommy! SELL ITT!!" hahahaha
