For Coupes and Fastbacks, the manual and automatic consoles are the same except for the plate that surrounds the shifter. The only difference in these cars is that the console is trimmed a little shorter under the dash on A/C cars.
The console base is cut different for Convertibles, because of the extra floor structure on those cars. A console from a Coupe or Fastback can be cut to fit in a Convertible.
I've seen complete reproduction consoles for sale for $1000. Look on ebay for a used console, if this is too much for your budget.
