Default 1966 Mustang engine block code

New to the forum - I have a 1966 Mustang GT with a block code of D10E-6015-AA-1J13 - anyone have any idea what this means. It is supposed to be a 289. Thanks

Welcome to the forum Marvin.

D1OE says 1971 so its not the original engine and likely a 302. The last 289s were in 1968. I don't have a reference that covers anything in the 70s.

Definitely a 302, casted September 13, 1971.

It can't even be a "Mexico" block with the larger main caps with that casting number.
