Default Finding a build sheet?

I have read many stories of people finding the original build sheets behind the dash... just wondering exactly where behind the dash people find these things... and why would they be put behind the dash?

Why? I really don't know.

Metuchen built cars typically have them wrapped around the dash wiring harness near the gauge area. On the other hand, San Jose cars commonly don't have a build sheet left in them. I don't know what Dearborn typically did.

Some people have found the sheets under the rug like mentioned, under the seats.....or have even found build sheets for other cars too.

I have a 66 fastback and found the build sheet behind the dash wrapped around the wireing harness, (car came from Metuchen). On my 67 conv the build sheet was under the passenger seat.

I have a 66 coupe c code found mine wrapped around the wiring harness behind the dash. Its around the main harness. Be real careful if you find it because it is held on with 43 year old tape. I didnt have the orginal door tag but lucked up when I found the build sheet. That had all the information on it then some.

yeah, just found mine taped to the dash wiring harness as well on my 68, it is a Metuchen car. You are right on the tape I lost a small piece of the top left corner - it is an awesome feeling finding this history!
