Question 1966 Mustang question!

Hey guys I'm new to the site and i already have a few questions.I just bought a 1966 Mustang coupe with a 200 in it.I've always liked how the HIPO Air cleaners looked and I was wondering if i could put one of those in my car.Currently it just has the standard one with the full cover that has the hose that goes to the oil cap.Would i have to get a new carburetor or can only engines 289 and bigger have those hipo air filters?Thanx again guys!

They make a 6 cylinder version of the air cleaner, most Mustang parts dealers should have access to it.

Yes they make them. I have one on my 1966 200 straight six. I got mine from Virginia Classic Mustang right after they started producing them because they were the only company that had them, but now you can get them Mustangs Unlimited, NPD, and I'm pretty sure California Mustang and Mac's Antique Auto Parts. Here is a picture of my car with it.

In the second picture ignore the slightly obvious pool of coolant in one of the indents in my manifold. My brother forgot to tighten the hose and I didn't catch it until after the photo was taken. Both of these pictures are of my engine & engine bay after my engine rebuild and engine compartment refinish (rewire & repaint).
