Can you BUY a serial off a junk?
Documentaion is always important. What if the car was stolen? You can't buy a VIN off a wreck and put it on this car legally.

Dana, is it really worth the hassle if there are no numbers on it?

Even if he comes up with paperwork with a VIN, you have no way to prove it belongs to that car.

Without a VIN, you may have trouble selling it, down the road and the value will be less.

Did you try to find the dash VIN plate under the dash pad (sometimes the replacement dashpads are put on over the VIN tags) so they can't be seen, unless you remove the dashpad. It should be on the drivers side. The other VIN stampings may be hidden by the fender tops on both sides.

If you don't locate the dash VIN tag or inner fender stamping, I'd walk away from it.

Don't you already have your hands full with the '67 Coupe?
