Default How to tell the difference between a 72 fastback mach 1 and just a standard fastback?

What are the differences between a mach 1 fastback and just a standard fastback? My car was white with blue? is that just a standard model or was it something different?

thanks
james

The main way to tell is the VIN. Post it and we can tell you if it's a true mach. They came in all colors. Striping can be done aftermarket now. There's no way of knowing without more info from you James. The VIN would have 05 in it on the 3rd and 4th digits.

You could go by tachometer option, console clock option, is the motor a 351, does it have the dual naca ram scoop hood? All of these options could be ordered so that's why it's hard to tell.

It does have a 351C in it. I am sure it is not a mach 1, i was just unsure what components made the cars different. Like the hoods i believe were different but i was just curious. Thanks for the help guys.

The 4th digit of the VIN will tell you. A 2 is a normal sportsroof while a 5 is a Mach 1.

You may have a limited Sprint package Mustang, it had blue and white paint and would originally have had a special sticker on the rear quater panel.

Hopefully a 1969 convertible or Sportsroof (non Mach or Boss) for next Mustang project

Trying to find my father's 1973 Mustang Grande he bought brand new. 3F04F126773 last known registration and title was in New Jersey, 1982.

Default I agree with Jay..

I agree with Jay - sounds like you may have a Sprint package - white with medium blue trim (blue stripes on the hood outlined with red pinstripes, and blue around the bottom and tailight panel) and blue and white seats to match.

So anything special about a sprint package? is it just a cosmetic feature or were there some other parts changed for this model?

thanks
james
