Default Missing My 1973 Mustang... It is at the Doctor!

Over the weekend me and my wife and son drove down to see my parents and the car was having some issues with running so I called up my Mechanic and he is going to put the old 73' through a thorough examination so that it will run better for me and he can also fix any other problems it might have... It sucks not hearing that Beastly motor in the morning when I go to work...I hope I can get it back soon...

Well, I miss mine terribly bad. Even though I sold it and bought a '94 GT in the same day. It's not the same as the old classic. But it has given me more motivation to get my '65 fastback done. So eventually the classic void in my heart will be filled with an old friend again. I hope this makes you feel better. At least you're getting her back!

I hope so I get it sooner than I think... It sucks not having enough funds to just do everything you want to the car....

I haven't heard anything about it yet... But when I was heading down to my parents I could go about 75 MPH and all of the sudden it bogged down to 60 and when I tried punching the gas it would bog back down... So for a while there I was going 60 MPH and then all of the sudden I was able to go about 75 MPH again and it never bogged down again...

Does that make any sense? Sorry if it doesn't!!

Could be debris in the fuel line, and then it blew out.

I'd be curious as to what the fuel filter looked like was your fuel guage reading under 1/4 tank?

Well, if you think you miss yours what about me. I had a 1973 mustang grande that I bought in 1982 at a dealership in long beach california on PCH 1. It had just been totally restored by southern california ford for a graduation gift to the sales managers daughter. Long story short, she didnt like it and i wound up with it. I was 20 years old. I moved to washington the next year and someone stole it. I havent seen it since. I still have the california title and a couple of pictures. The car was ultra fine, restored to showroom condition by ford. I really miss that cruiser.

Just got off of the phone with my mechanic and he said it is definitely the Carburetor... I have a 4 Barrel Carb on it and he said the Motor is not setup for that (I am not sure what that means) so he is ordering me a Holley 2 Barrel Carb for it... He is going to look at the electrical as well!!

Can someone explain to me about what he is talking about, that the motor is not setup for the 4 Barrel and is there going to be a big performance loss going to a 2 Barrel

I can't see any reason why a cleveland (even stock ) wouldn't love a 4 barrel. Unless it is a 2 barrel intake with an adapter to run a 4 barrel carb. You need to get more info and post it.

That sucks 429ragtop. Did you have thft insurance? Have you posted the VIN on LostCarRegistry.com? Maybe it will turn up? You don't have to tell that it was stolen until it's located.
