Default 1967 Mustang coupe rebuild from a 2007 Mustang GT

As I am not a professional automobile restorer this is what I am looking at doing. I have a 1967 Mustang coupe minus engine and tranny. I just bought a 2007 Mustang GT 4.6 that was side swiped and written off. My question is this. Can I drill out the welds and just swap bodies? Will my '67 fit on the 2007? Or do I start doing a total swap part by part? I would like to take as much electronics from the 2007 as possible. As well as add a Roush super-charge kit, headers and side pipes with the Eleanor kit.

Here's a guy that's making a 2006 GT look like a '70 Mach 1.

There are lots of photos and videos.

Northwest Auto Creations

He had a thread on this site answering questions last winter.

Search here: http://mustangforums.com

for: 2006 Mustang GT Transformed into 70' Mach 1

I also heard the Modified Mustangs and Fords magazine had an article where they took a '69 Mustang and dropped a GT500 drivetrain and interior in it. It's a custom chassis with vintage panels on it and not a GT500 chassis with new skin. I'm not sure which month, but it's probably on of these: Sept/Oct/Nov 2009.

I hope this helps.

Its like buying a 747 for free peanuts.I would sell the 07 and spend the money on the 67.There ain't anything you can't do to a 67 that won't make it better then a new car.Coilovers subframe connectors and a 3 link rear will out handle the new mustang.wilwood makes some huge brakes so it can out stop it.The mod motor is kinda a joke to me its huge small ci and takes a blower to break 400hp.

I agree 100%. The only thing is $$$$$? I picked up a 2007 for 5k. Very low mileage as it was a write off. Drivers side all scraped up but the rest is all good. I am wanting to get everything I can from the '07. Power windows, power seats, brake system... everything? I plan on tearing out the shock towers as you stated there are way better suspensions out there. I have a 9" 4 link already. Just looking for any advice or tips and tricks.
