I think its a 298.

2) my second questiong is whether or not i can put twin turbo kits on a carburated car, and would it benefit from that at all....?

thank you for all your help.
for starters, there were no 351w's for 1968. top dog was the 428 CJ..then the 390, as far as big blocks. for small blocks, you had a choice of 2v or 4v 302. then the straight 6.

The casting numbers above the starter is the best way the other thing you can do is look very carefully at the top of the block between the intake and bell housing. In 68 and later partial or full VINs were stamped there.

the 302 was actually intoduced very early in 1968, matter of fact, some very late 67 mustangs received a 302. the 289s were gone by late 1967.

I've never heard of a '67 coming from the factory with a 302, but I'd bet there'd be some arguments at shows, if they saw a "J code" stamp on a '67.

Ken, has Mustang Monthly done any articles on these "J Code" '67's? Have you seen one?

Jay H 237 is correct that in the 1968 model year, which started in the summer of '67, the "C code" 289-2V and "J code"302-4V engines were the small block choices for Mustangs. Later on in the model year, the "F code" 302-2V came along and Ford fazed out the 289-2V.
