I put one in my '67 with a stock C4, but I hated it and changed it out for a stock one.
From what I understand about stall converters, they are used to get the RPM's up into the power band of your motor. I have a 289-4V with a mild cam, Edelbrock Performer Intake/ 600CFM Carb, and Windsor Jr Heads. I hated having to rev up my engine, just to get the car to move.
