I believe they had a plant in Mexico in 1965. I remember Mustang Monthly had an article a couple months ago about how some guy had found the first car to leave the Mexican assembly line.

Mexico built some and I've heard even Argentina had a plant but lack any info.

Here's a list of some Mexican cars South of the Border Mustang Registry

You may notice some of the earlier cars looking "wierd" at the rear roof line. Originally Mexico wouldn't allow any fastbacks/Sportsroofs to be built there. Some coupes had extensions on the rear C pillars to give the cars a fastback look from the sides.

Some other info I recieved is that some of the Mexico cars were assembled as 'bodies in white' here at the plants in the States before being shipped to Mexico for finaly assembly with glass, interior and drivetrain.

The Mexican cars had some unique things different from them. The engine compartments were painted body color, atleast on some. The accessories were mounted different on the motors, like in the below pic the A/C compressor is on the passenger side. There's 6 pics of a Mexican Stang on my Photobucket account here, Pictures by Renee_237 - Photobucket

Note the different door tag in Spanish. The speedometer is in kilometers only.

Hopefully a 1969 convertible or Sportsroof (non Mach or Boss) for next Mustang project

Trying to find my father's 1973 Mustang Grande he bought brand new. 3F04F126773 last known registration and title was in New Jersey, 1982.

Wow you're right. I found a picture of a 1969 coupe, and it had those weird extensions. They almost go to the very end of the car.

When I was in Nicaragua I found a 1965 Fastback with a Nissan TDI motor under the hood. It was a driver.
