Default 1965/66 Mustang Build sheets

Hello.
I collect information of all sorts on the 65/66 Mustangs. The project that I have going now is to try to completely decode the information contained on the build sheets, as far as which codes mean what, rough statistical estimates of percentages with this or that option, colors, interiors, etc. Some of the codes on the build sheets nobody is real sure about, and, to make things even more interesting, the 65 build sheets are different from the 66.

The point of all that is simply this. If you have an original build sheet for your 65 or 66 Mustang, I would really appreciate it if you could scan it or something and email it to me at VeronicaSczb@yaoo.com . All of the information that could attach a particular name to a particular car would be kept in the strictest confidence. I won't even keep that information. I will be filing the build sheets by V.I.N., not by owner's name because trends and changes become more apparent when things are filed in chronological order. And, as most of you know, if anyone, anywhere asks a question about their car, I am always happy to answer it if I can, just like I've been doing for years. I am not writing a book that you would have to buy, I am not going to start a build sheet reproduction service that you would have to pay for. Nothing like that. If you would like, I would be happy to tell you everything that I can about your car when I see the build sheet, and will get back with you as more and more comes to light. Any conclusions that I deduce will be posted on my blog for the whole world to see absolutely free. I intend to post a chart of what the different codes on there mean, along with statistical inferences concerning rarity. My intention is two-fold. One, to figure out what the codes mean that nobody knows yet, and, two, to take this information out of the hands of the gurus, some of which will just make something up if they don't know the correct answer, and place it in the hands of everyone everywhere. I would really appreciate your help in this. I have a lot of information already, but not nearly enough to actually do this right. I need the help of everyone else. I would really appreciate any help that you could give me on this. Thanks bunches.

That is a pretty big undertaking. I was going to attempt this myself until I found out how hard it is to get copies of build sheets. I have scoured the internet for copies of build sheets and have not found many. I will send you the ones I have found. Are you interested in pieces of build sheets? I found one in the headliner of my 66 but the mice found it 1st. I do have readable pieces though. I would be interested in seeing a sheet for a 66 that is complete and all parts readable. I have a spreadsheet where I am trying to reconstruct a complete one. I have learned you can sometimes get them from ebay auctions. Good luck!

Hi, watts428 Thanks. That would be great. And yes, I can use pieces, also. If you could email what you have to VeronicaSczb@yahoo.com I would really appreciate it. Here's what a complete one looks like. I whited out the vin to protect the privacy of the owner, but, this is for a 66 model 'A' code convertible.

If you ever get to see one personally take a high resolution picture of it. I would love to have one. If I see one I will do the same and send it to you. Of all the pictures I have of them none of them are clear enough to read all boxes. Thanks!

Hi again. If you could pm me all of the info that you have on your car, like the door tag info, did it come with that sprint package, etc..and give me an email address, I could tell you what most of that stuff should say, fill in a blank one and email it to you.

A blank build sheet not a blank new car window sticker? I have never seen the blank build sheets for sale and now even the blank window stickers don't seem very common either. Actually, today it might be easier to print your own build sheet with a laser printer since you could likely replicate the dirt and smudges better. The mouse holes will still be difficult.

Well this has the holes and everything. I found it on ebay. There is a company name on the bottom. There is a dashed line and I get to cut off everything under that, but below that line it says "This is not a Ford Motor Company Product-Reproduction by Jim Osborn Reproductions, Inc." It has all the little holes down the side, and it looks almost identical to the one that Veronica posted a picture of except it is newer, and blank. I'm also looking at getting a blank window sticker, but that will be more difficult because nobody remember's the price of a Mustang with the Sprint 200 package. If someone with a Sprint 200 has the original window sticker and would care to share that would be brilliant.

Interesting, I have never seen one of those. Maybe I need to keep my eyes open more often.

As far as the window prices goes, there was more than one price since they revised them during the model year. I have seen all kinds of price lists for '66 coupes with options like mine. I don't have the original window sticker but instead a hand written invoice from the dealer. The prices are close, but none of them are exactly like the prices on the lists you see everyone posting and/or selling.

There is a place that I got a repro window sticker from a few years back called 66mustang.net and they had all of that data. You just fill out their form and they reproduce the sticker with all of the info including correct prices, dealer name and address. Their e-mail was windowpricesticker@66mustang.net if you want to give it a shot, they hopefully are still around.
