Default Autolite 4100 on 5.0

Hey guys,

Has anyone ever run an Autolite 4100 on a late model 5.0 engine? if so how did it run? was it too much carb or too little? and which size did you run? 1.08 or 1.12? i'm just curious because on how or if this combo works. Thanks.

I have a 5.0 and I am planning on running 1.08 4100 on it. The 1.12 are 600 cfm and the 1.08 are 480 cfm. I read an article that indicated the the 1.08 cfm was one of the best carbs for a 302.

Wow that's fantastic to hear! I'd figure using the 1.12 size to keep the engine happy and have power to spare. But it's almost imposible to find a 1.08 4100 with a manual choke, unless you make it yourself. Do you think everything should run alright with the roller cam?

It will probably be just fine for a street engine. That cfm will give you really crisp throttle response. The autolite is a terrible choice if you plan on any autocross or road racing. For that you need a center-pivot float design like you can get with Holley.
