Good chance! You can always keep a towel handy. Whey seal them off, anyway?

Let me help you out.
I've got a 66 Coupe daily driver here in the rainy NW. I sealed the air intake vents for two reasons. 1) the cowl leaks because either the drains are plugged, or there is rust at the edges of the top hats. 2) I have lots of trees around me and I don't want any leaves in the cowl through the air vent to cause the 1st reason above.
So I used a clear vinyl and spray on adhesive to make a well shaped and sized cover for the air intake between the hood and window. This stopped the water or leaves getting into the cowl. The heater and defroster still work because fresh air is drawn in back-wards through the cowl drain. The only fogging I get is from water getting in through the back window and from me being all wet when I get in.

They make a nice plexi glass cover for the cowl that can be installed and removed easily. Some for about $20.
