Default 1964 Mustang Fastback back on eBay...again

I know this has already been discussed to death but I thought it was funny that this car is for sale again on eBay. For anyone who hasn't seen this...feel free to check out the auction.

Oh god. I asked him politely for the rest of the doortag information. Five bucks says it was built in like december 64 which means it's a 65. Oh, I just looked through the pics and he has one of the body date stamps, 10 29 D2, which if I remember correctly means it was made October 29 in District 2, which means there is no way in he** that this fastback is a 1964.

The funniest part about the whole thing is the sequential counter part of the VIN.

According to the VIN (4F09T345086) this is the 45,086th car produced in the 3rd run of 1964. They sure did produce a lot of pre-production mules.

Whats really sad is that we tried telling him before and he was very rude to most of us.

10/29 of what year though haha. Sad thing is the VIN stamping looks legitimate. We all know there were not any 64 cars but that is a rather convincing example.

Yeah I contacted him last time, and got nothing but guff when I pointed out that the very first cars for the Worlds Fair had 65 vins.

hmmm weird I'd be real interested in seeing it in person to see how much early car stuff it had
I had a september built 65 fastback with many 64 1/2 style stuff (center off blower , clip on door handles, chrome bezels around the wipers ,beveled headlight buckets ...etc ) But it was definitely a 65
I remember a few years ago stopping at a "musclecar lot " and getting into it about his 66 "gt" because he had documentation proving his drum brake "c " code coupe was an original gt , I tried too explain to him that "factory gts" were 4 barrel cars) I tried explaining about the "dealer Gts" and told him that was probably what he had if he did in fact have paper work.....he kicked me off his lot because I was just a punk kid and he knew better than me ( I was 29 at the time and I bought my first 66 stang when I was 13)
People tend to get defensive when they are told their priceless treasure is not quite what they think it is

I had an early 65 fastback as well with clip on door handles and stuff. But it was not a 64 1/2 or like this guy claims a 64. The car was more than likely just miss stamped when the guy on the line was stamping Falcons, Fairlains, and Mustangs as they went down the line.

Did they even have the fastback available for 64 1/2?

I had a friend of mine run the VIN. He told me he needed more numbers. Anyone have an idea about this?

Can't do it as these cars have 11 digit VINs and not the standard 17 digit since 1981. That is why Carfax and others can't be done with these old cars.

Hopefully a 1969 convertible or Sportsroof (non Mach or Boss) for next Mustang project

Trying to find my father's 1973 Mustang Grande he bought brand new. 3F04F126773 last known registration and title was in New Jersey, 1982.

So how can this VIN be checked? All records of these cars have been destroyed or so I've read.
