Default top end of an A code mustang

will they actually do 140 as the speedo says?not saying i want to go that fast.just curious.

It will depends alot on your rearend gears.

A stock 4-V 66 stang with a high gear rear end would really-really be pushing to reach the 140 mark. I could be wrong, but i seriously doubt it.

However, we all still like the 140 speedo. it makes us think we can if we wanted to. Personally, unless I had some improved suspension and steering, I would not want to be doing 140 in a 66 mustang. That thing would be floating around the road like a "Terd in a punch bowl"
