I have a 1969 Mustang coupe four wheel drum 302 atuo. I'm restoring from the ground up. I'd like to make several modifications, and I'm looking for advise. I have a 1993 f-150 351 doner vehichle. I'd like some advise as to how to make this 93 351 tranplanted into this car bring 650+ hp to the wheels. I'm new to the performance side of engines but have been tinkering for years. my first resto was a 1968 fairlane fast back but that was 25 years ago. I really want to make this one " one of a kind ". I'm also planning to have for wheel disc brakes. Any suggestions would be helpful.
OK, it's good to have dreams. So for 650 rwhp you are going to need ~700 flywheel horsepower. That can be done, sure, but to have that and driveability, and reliability you will need a top notch professional job with turbos or supercharger or nitrous or maybe a combination. Are you up for that skill-wise and $-wise? All I'm really trying to say is you should think through what you really want, how you want to use it, and then what resources you have to get there.
Four-wheel disc brakes is not a big deal, and there are quite a few companies out there that offer kits for that swap. Check out some previous message threads about that, then shop around.
Good luck!

My dude has a 95 GT 5.0 roller motor which your 351 is, and he is running 16psi on a turbo set up and is pulling 582hp with 525ft tq.
You could probably stroke the 351 out to like a 408 or 428( i think), with some trick flow twisted wedge heads, a mean ass cam, and like 2 4bbls on a tunnel ram for just motor, then induct it with paxton supercharger, and you could possibly get there.
Your idle will completely suck, and you will probably want to put a cage and wear a helmet when you drive it. So Im sure with my dude geting close to six, your displacement and cam/head/carb choice should put you at 7 hundo.

Speedpro pistons - Cloyes 2x roller timing - Comp Cam Magnum 270h - Edelbrock RPM Air Gap - Pro/Sport SFI damper - DART heads coming soon! - carb is TBA - ARP hardware - thats it for now.

Oh yeah, you will want the whole entire valve train to be roller obviously, you going to want to use forged pistons, and ARP hardware for your bottome end and head studs.

A 302 is a 5.0 liter and a 351 is i think a 7.0 liter.Not the same.
Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it. I have worked in the auto parts business for about 15 years, so I've got plenty of connections. I think the first thing I'm going to do is the suspention, and make the chassis stronger.
I haven't made up my mind weather to stay with fuel injection with twin turbos. Or go with a twin Carb set up. I've gotten so many different people telling me so many different things, but no one with accual experience.

A 302 is a 302 when the 302 went roller they started calling it a 5.0. Thats why no one would say I have a 69 mustang 5.0, you would say a 69 mustang with a 302.
The 351 is a 5.8l and what I meant up there was the motors were both roller, not that they were the same cubic inch. I know the two are different sizes.

For the money I say 5.4 Superchaged EFI GT500 engine from Ford Racing, that will get you over the 600HP mark and it can be driven down the road. That old truck motor is going to take about as much money and work as just buying a new Ford Racing engine...

GT500's are getting in to the 800hp with a better blower / exhaust.

Also, he will need all of the wiring and computers for that too.

Calpony is right guys. If "Gary 69" wants that much horsepower and still be able to drive it on the street, the 5.4 Supercharged EFI GT500 from ford racing is the way to go. I would bet you he will be money ahead based on his desired HP.
Not to mention he would have one Bad A$$ ride as well.
